Our Terms and Conditions were last updated on the 1st of January 2022.
These are the Terms and Conditions governing the use of the services and products offered by Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique. The agreement operates between customers and the establishment. These Terms and Conditions set out the rights and obligations of all customers regarding the use of the services and products. These Terms and Conditions apply to all visitors, customers, and others who access or use the services and products of Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique.
1. Order Bookings
Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique aims to provide excellent service to its customers and accommodate orders so long as our calendar allows us. To achieve this, we require clients to reach out to us at a specific time before the date the cake is needed.
a) Wedding Cakes: clients who would like to book with us should at least give us a notice of 3-6 months before their wedding date.
b) Celebration Cakes/ Cupcakes: clients who would like to book with us should at least give us a notice of 2-4 weeks before their celebration date/ date needed.
2. Cake Tasting Appointment Bookings
Clients who wish to visit our store to discuss the details of their wedding cake and want to try different cake flavors should book a cake tasting appointment at least 3-6 months prior to their wedding date. Bookings are only first come first serve. Changes to the dates and times are not guaranteed as there are also other clients waiting to get their appointments booked.
3. Three-week Check
Our Team will get in touch with our clients again for confirmation of their order details, making sure everything is correct and updated three (3) weeks before the event.
4. Deposits and Full Payment
To ensure the legitimacy of orders, we require the following deposit once the client’s order has been placed in our system. Deposits are non-transferable and non-refundable.
a) Wedding Cakes (not part of a package): £100
b) Wedding Cakes (part of a package with partnered venues): No down payment will be charged directly from the clients. Payment will be made by the partnered venues.
c) Celebration Cakes: 50% of the price of the cake
d) Full payment: should be due upon the three-week check/collection/delivery of the cake.
5. Cancellation and Refunds
5.1 If a cake has been paid in full and the client would like to cancel their order, the following refunds will be processed:
a) Wedding Cakes: Clients must inform us at least 3 months before the event. They will be refunded with the full price minus the deposit of £100.
b) Celebration Cakes: Clients must inform us at least 14 days before the event. They will be refunded with the full price minus a 50% deposit.
5.2 Should you be unhappy with our cakes, our Team is open to your concern, and rest assured that we will sort out our mistakes before the event the cake is required. If dissatisfaction persists, we will consider offering a refund.
6. Cake Stand Hire
We have cake stands available for hire upon the booking of a client’s order. They come with a £25 and £50 refundable damage deposit. Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique is not liable for any damage caused to the cake stand while it is in the care of our clients.
a) Return Timescale: Hired items must be returned to the store within a maximum of 5 days after the event.
b) Late Return: If the client fails to return the hired items within 5 days, a late return fee of £5 per day per item will be charged until it is returned to the store.
c) Personal Collection from Venue: We are not responsible for collecting the hired items unless it has been agreed upon with the client. If the client requests us to collect the hired items ourselves, a fee will be charged depending on the distance of the location.
d) Damaged Items: If the client had returned the hired items but damaged them, the damage deposit will be forfeited.
7. Use of Goods
All goods remain the property of Truly Scrumptious Designer Cakes until the client has fully paid for the cake.
8. Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique’s 100% Customer Satisfaction Guarantee
It is our priority to ensure that our customers are happy and satisfied with our cakes.
a) On personalization of orders: We guarantee your satisfaction with every product we sell by crafting designer cakes/ cupcakes that fit your liking. We will base our designs, flavors, etc. based on what the clients gave us.
b) On clarifications and inquiries: Customers are always welcome in our Facebook Page inboxes, website, and Instagram DMs should they have inquiries or clarifications. Our Team will try their best to supplement their questions.
c) On other complaints: Any complaints will be dealt with formally by the Managing Director. We will follow the correct process to ensure that the complaint has been thoroughly investigated. Corrective measures will be placed.
9. Bespoke Designs
If clients want a personalized cake design, they should send photos for our cake designer’s reference. However, we are not allowed to exactly copy the creation of other cake designers. Instead, our team will try to make the cake as close as possible to the photo reference sent by the client. They must manage their expectations, but we always try our best to make customers happy and satisfied.
10. Promotional Materials
Our products and descriptions displayed on our social media handles and website are accurate; however, there may be rare occasions where items are out of stock or discontinued before notice. In this case, we reserve the right to replace items with those of similar or higher value. We will endeavor to color match any ribbons or icing color to samples provided by the customer. However, in some instances, exact matches are impossible and therefore will be matched as similar to the sample given.
The pictures shown on our social media handles and website are accurate representations of our products. However, as each cake is a handmade “one-off” creation by our talented designers, details may vary, and colors may not be exactly as shown due to lighting.
11. Order Form
Orders are taken and rechecked by the staff as per the details provided by the customer, and we also provide accurate and proper billing information. However, it is the customer’s responsibility to check the order form sent via their emails after booking their orders to ensure that the details are correct and accurate.
11.1 In case of errors on your order form, we will endeavor to respond via email, Instagram DM, or Facebook Messenger and correct the error within one (1) working day. If you have not received a reply within one (1) day, please give our office a ring (01506 671133I) to immediately correct the order form.
12. Allergen Advice
If a client has food allergies and other special dietary requirements, they must inform Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique upon ordering a cake or booking for cake tasting appointments.
12.1 Our products may contain allergens such as gluten, eggs, and dairy products. They are also made in a facility that uses nuts and soya in other products.
12.2 Clients may request for their cakes to be gluten-free, dairy-free, or may also make a special request to remove and alter certain ingredients of the cake in respect to other allergies.
12.3 If a client failed to disclose their allergen/s or special dietary requirements, Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique is not reliable for clients suffering allergic reactions as a result of consuming our products.
Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique is responsible for ensuring that your orders arrive promptly and in a pristine and fresh condition.
13.1If we delivered the products at the venue and arrived with damage/s, we will be responsible for replacing or restoring the products within the given timescale.
13.2Delivery fee may vary depending on the distance of the venue.
14. Collection from Store
For clients wishing to collect their orders personally from the store, they must be informed that a flat surface is required for the stability of the cake and to remove the risk of movement of the cake in transit. Please ask the staff before leaving the store if you are still unsure of how to handle our products.
15. Handling of Products
If the products had left our care, had been handed over to the client, or had been collected from the store, it is solely the responsibility of the client to ensure that our products will be transported and stored appropriately to maintain their quality. Once the products are out of our vicinity and care, Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique will not be liable for any damages caused by the client’s negligence and irresponsibility in handling our products.
16. Shelf Life of Products
Cakes of a larger size or with very intricate details are prepared 2 days before the event. We do our best to maintain the freshness and quality of the cake for the event. The cakes are best eaten within four (4) days after the event.
16.1 To prolong the shelf life of our products, they are best placed in a sealed container and stored in the fridge. However, placing it in a sealed container will damage the sugar paste finish.
16.2 Truly Scrumptious Cake Boutique is not liable for any damage due to storing and consumption of the products four days following the event.
